"OUTTAPLACE" FINDS ACCEPTANCE IN AUSTRALIA!!

Rather ironic, hah?:) Our team 'OuttaPlace' (see pic), disembarked on the chilly shores of Perth for 2 weeks during July in order to visit schools, addressing both Asian and Caucasian youth who struggle with feeling out of place. The response was warm, and each of us were grateful to God that He gave us many opportunities to chat with students after the programs and opened the door more, for the local YFC centre to continue on with programs in the schools.

It was also a privilege to be able to visit churches and the YFC Aspire conference, encouraging people to involve themselves in mission wherever they are. During a church service one Sunday morning, a young Korean committed his life to Jesus despite the fact that we were primarily addressing a Christian audience. A seed had been sown and it was a joy for us to realise that God chose to use us, to help bring him that last step into a relationship with Him.

Thank you so much for your prayer support during this time. Each of us remained well right up until we had to return to Singapore! We brought back a few bugs with us but we were so grateful that sickness didn't interfere with any of the performances we needed to do in Perth. It was difficult to leave my homeland and return to Singapore again but at the same time, I was mindful that God has given me a task to do and I'm determined to complete it! :)

"OUTTAPLACE" IN SRI LANKA

Leaving August 11, we will be based in Colombo, the capital city of Sri Lanka. The local YFC centre has prepared two packed weeks of visiting schools, churches, running evangelistic concerts (for up to 2 hours...!) and presenting performing arts workshops. We will have a few days in the middle to venture out to the country areas and ...try the tea! :)

Please pray for our health and safety, as the conditions will be fairly difficult to adjust to. They have the same heat as Singapore but rarely have air conditioning or even fans. PLUS being a more conservative culture, we will need to cover ourselves up well. I'm going to cook!! But most of all, pray that God will be able to use us and bring many young people to Himself through all that we present.

AND THEN...? Unfortunately us foreign team members have had trouble being able to renew our visas in this past week. Please pray for wisdom for the administration team as they seek a way to keep the team together after Sri Lanka. We thank God for His sovereignty and know that He is in control no matter what happens.

Thank you for your support!!
